**Magnetic domain** - a region in a [[ferromagnetic]] or [[ferrimagnetic]] material, in which strong interatomic interactions cause for the [[magnetic moment|magnetic moments]] to align over large macroscopic volumes. Magnetic domains are separated by [[domain wall|domain walls]].
