Infolytica was founded in 1978, by Dr. P. Silvester, Dr. E. Freeman and Dr. D. Lowther. In 1986 they were joined by Dr. J. Webb.

Since 1978, the package MagNet was two-dimensional. With the progress of computer technology it evolved to a sophisticated 3D tool, with multi-core processing architecture.
